If you’ve met the kids and they seem well-adjusted, I’d say your kid will be fine. If the kids are twitchy and can’t look you in the eye, i’d get sketchy. Worst case, you can ask to come along! Hunts are a good deal of fun and mostly just hanging out anyway.

If…and I say this most stringently…IF somebody molested a child in our deer camp there wouldn’t be much left of him when after we found out. Hunting is a few guys getting together to pursue a quarry…usually with guns…and lots of testosterone….a setting not conducive to long life and health for a molester. 35+ years a sportsman and bad tempered grandpa

A mayor of one Texas town is trying to help disabled veterans have a fun outdoor adventure.

Gordon Melton, a former Huntington resident and now Mayor of Paducah,Texas is the founder of "Hunting with Soldiers," a non-profit group that takes disabled vets on hunting trip and takes care of their housing and meals free of charge.

All in hopes of helping hear emotional wounds for these men coming home from battle.

"It's more of a mental healing for them, so we try to help those guys and girls out because a lot of the wounds they have are not seen by the naked eye," said Melton.
