Left Handed compound bow and fiber optic sight question?

Q: I am brand new to bows and I got my kids a genesis compound bow and also fiber optic sights. The bow is left handed what side of the bow do I mount the sights on? I purchased the sights seperate from the bow. The guy at the store did a test to see

A: You put the sight on the side of the bow where the arrow sets ALWAYS
that is the best way to do it, because you wont have to compensate left and right at distances.

I bought a robin hood compound bow the other day but i cant find out any info on it anywhere. before i saw it i thought it would be a kids toy but its not. its probably 15 or 20 yrs old im guessing. it doesn't have a string but by the looks of it its probably 45 to 75 lb. The markings say robin hood-- little john with serial #38k3827 fine hand painted on. Its made of wood metal and plastic. Please help! whats it worth or where can i find info on it?
