Q: I want to wear underwear with my spandex with no lines. My mom would freak if I ask her for a thong because I am only 13 and so now i wear regular underwear and it shows lines. I have 'no line' PINK from VS underwear but it seems to show more than regular
A: I doubt your mom is going to freak. I'm the same age, and that's what i wear for volleyball. So just ask her. She'll be fine with it I'm sure.
Volleyball spandex is as much a part of the sport as the ball. Worn by beginning juniors to Olympians and top pros. Its shape fitting qualities and versatility can make the players look like superheros. Especially in the fast action sport that constantly uses the words attack, spike, joust and dig.
Exactly where did this miracle fabric come from? A couple of places actually. First spandex was invented in 1959 by chemist Joseph Shivers at DuPont’s laboratories in the US. Second, spandex is combined with other fabrics to make the final garment more flexible. Typically spandex is as small as 10% of the final garment. When initially introduced, it revolutionized much of the apparel market. The chemical make up makes shorts, shirts, jerseys and uniforms last for a longer period as it won’t break down as rapidly from exposure to sweat, body oils and sunscreen.

But you have to admire the Oregon Ducks, moving on to the NCAA Final Four for the first time in school history after a 3-1 win against Nebraska in the Omaha Regional final.
It’s a nice story.
